Whitney Port & Sister: Beverly Hills Pampering

http://www.celebrity-gossip.net/sites/default/files/imagecache/story_header/photos/whitney-port-no-letdown.jpg

Fresh off of the announcement that her MTV show's been canceled, Whitney Port was looking for a cheer-me-up as she headed out to get pampered in Beverly Hills on Tuesday (October 26).

The 25-year-old reality star/designer was joined by a gal pal as the two lovely ladies sipped on their coffee after finishing up a mutual mani-pedi session.

Whitney Port Is Sad That "The City" Is Over

http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/features/tvblog/090119/whitney_port.jpgFirst The Hills ended, and now The City.

The MTV reality show, which followed California Girl Whitney Port as she broke into world of New York's fashion industry, won't be back for a third season, its star confirms.

"It's always sad when one major chapter in your life comes to a close, but for me, this is the beginning of an entirely new one," Whitney wrote on her official blog. "I loved filming The City. It was just such an adventure and I'm so grateful for every opportunity it gave me."

The show, which was a spin-off of The Hills (itself a spin-off of Laguna Beach), also starred Olivia Palermo as Whitney's fashionable nemesis, Roxy Olin as a friend and roommate and People's Revolution's Kelly Cutrone as her no-nonsense mentor in the fashion PR world, among others.

Unlike The Hills, which came to a close with an elaborate series finale, fans of The City will have to settle with the season 2 finale, which had Whitney facing Kelly after taking a meeting with a competing PR firm.

"I'm so excited for whatever is next for me," Port's blog continues. "There are definitely a few things in the works, but right now I'm primarily focusing on my clothing line Whitney Eve. After all, it is my baby. I'm just so happy to be back home, I can finally spend unlimited time with those I love."

Whitney Port: 'The City' Has Been Cancelled

http://www.celebgossipz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/whitney-port-bikini-pictures-the-city.jpg

Whitney Port and pals won't be living life in the big city anymore! The Hills alumna confirmed that MTV has axed her spinoff show The City.

"As of right now it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," the 25 year-old Whitney Eve fashion designer said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Monday. When asked if the reality series could move from MTV to another network, Whitney said, "No, at this point it's not."

But Whitney, ever the optimist, is handling the cancellation well. "I'm working on some other things," she said. "It's okay, one door closes and another opens."

Whitney: What I'll Do if The City Gets Canceled

What will Whitney Port do if The City shuts down next season?

"Good question - I don’t know!" the MTV reality star, 25, told UsMagazine.com over the weekend at an American Cancer Society event. "Everything is so up in the air."

Currently living in Los Angeles, Port said she will probably focus on expanding her collection - on the West Coast.

"My family and my friends are out here, so it's where my heart is," she told Us. "But I will continue to do my line, which is really what I always wanted to do anyway," the star added.

"The City is great and so much fun to do, and I'm able to share what I do with so many people, [but] it'll be OK."

In addition to her Whitney Eve collection (which just showed at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week), she told Us she has launched a new affordable line, the Seamless Collection. "I've made a separates collection with basically all these layering pieces, like leggings, bandeau bras and little Spandex numbers to wear under things," the designer told Us.

As for her love life, she's been dating Buried Life star Ben Nemtin, 23 (who also is based in L.A.), for the past seven months.

"Things are standing at a fine point," Port gushed to Us. "He's wonderful."

Stephanie Pratt Talks The City, Friendships, Etc

Lately, rumors have been swirling around that Stephanie Pratt is headed to Whitney Port's spin off, "The City," to continue her quest to be a handbag designer.

"No, I'm not going to be on 'The City' next season!" Stephanie says. "I need to address that on Twitter right after I talk to you."

Stephanie and "The City" star Roxy Olin have a rocky history. Pratt's not particularly forthcoming about the girl she once called her "soulmate," but she does acknowledge that she felt betrayed when Roxy joined "The City" instead of "The Hills."

On July 5, updates appeared on Stephanie's Twitter account about how she was done being a doormat, and that after three years of "taking crap," she was finished. "When all these rumors about me joining 'The City' started, my friend Danny thought it was hilarious, and he took over my Twitter," Stephanie laughs. "He was like 'Let's go tell Roxy she'd better watch out!' and he hacked my Twitter and started posting all this stuff. I just deleted all that."

Pratt has no plans to do another reality show right now. "I'm not going to miss the stress and the pressure. It's not like I watch the episodes and think 'Oh, I look great!' I tear myself apart all the time. So it'll be nice to not see myself on TV. I'm sick of seeing myself on TV."

That's not to say there won't be things she will miss about doing the show. "I'll miss going to film at cafes with my best friend Lo [Bosworth]," she says. "The cast has the best time. I never get through a scene, I just laugh the whole time, and I'm always like 'Wait, what was my line? What were we supposed to be talking about?' We enjoy each other so much and we have so many inside jokes. We'll wink at the camera guys, and we can hear the producers in Video Village laughing, and we'll be like 'Pipe down peanut gallery!'"

We all remember her crying after arguments with Brody Jenner, getting into screaming matches with Conrad, and working out her issues with eating disorders and substance abuse in front of the world. "It's amazing, the full circle we've come," she says. "My first year on the show, it was really hard. I was like breaking down all the time. Now, I couldn't be happier."

Stephanie even counts Conrad as one of her best friends. "I just spent Fourth of July at Lauren's house in Laguna Beach," she says. "I drove down on Saturday and spent the whole weekend with her and Lo. Dieter [Schmitz] from 'Laguna Beach' was there, Stephen [Colletti] was there, all her Laguna friends."

Though Conrad and Port will return to "The Hills'" post-finale after-show, don't expect to see Spencer and Heidi on MTV any time soon. "They're not in the finale episode, no. I don't know if they're coming back to the after-show, but they weren't at the MTV Movie Awards, so I doubt it. I don't even know if they're together anymore."

As for what Pratt is going to do with her life now that the show is over -- her handbags will be hitting stores this fall. Hear that, Kelly Cutrone?

RUMOR ALERT: Stephanie Pratt on 'The City'!?

According to a new report, Stephanie Pratt is heading to the Big Apple so she can join MTV reality show The City.

Stephanie has been talking to producers of the show, which stars Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo, reports New York Post gossip column Page Six.

“Now that The Hills is over, Stephanie has been talking about moving to New York for The City,” a source said.

“There would be a lot of drama there because her ex-best friend, Roxy Olin, is a regular on the show — and there’s bad blood because Roxy just dropped Stephanie for Whitney Port.”

And to add fuel to the rumor, last week Stephanie tweeted, "Just bought an open-ended ticket to NYC for late July."

'The City' Cancelation Rumors Are NOT True

In response to the recent rash of rumors that MTV had canceled its NYC-based spin-off of The Hills, a barrage of sources have come forth to claim it just isn't so, from star Whitney Port (via Twitter and her personal blog) to Olivia Palermo's publicist to the MTV network itself.

Whitney tweeted (@whitneyEVEport) this afternoon: "the rumors are NOT true" in retaliation to Fashionista's initial report stating that a well-placed source claimed the show would be canceled after this season. Racked National also pointed out that they'd seen two producers from the show scouting for new blood in, where else, Montauk over the weekend (not exactly mourning behavior). MTV and Olivia Palermo's publicist also confirmed to us: any rumors of cancellation are entirely inaccurate. For fans of The City, it seems, the show will go on.

Whitney Port: Sexy in Soho

Continuing the new season of “The City,” Whitney Port was spotted on location in the SoHo district of New York City today (May 5).

The former “Hills” babe looked focused as she strolled up the street, sporting a brown printed jacket with a checkered skirt and beige heels.

As for her current musical tastes, Whitney told press she’s digging on an English band she discovered while chilling out at the Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival.

"I've been listening to this new band called the xx. Well, they're not new, but they're new to me. I just saw them at Coachella. It was so pretty."

MTV's 'The City' Shines, 'The Hills' Slows

MTV premiered new seasons of meta-scripted staple The Hills and its spinoff The City Tuesday, Sept. 29, pairing the two shows together for the first time.

The Hills continues to slow down as it ages, with the premiere drawing 2.1 million viewers at 10 p.m. That is down from 3 million viewers for the last season premiere in April, and 3.5 million from the season premiere in August 2008. Still, MTV noted that the show was still the top program on television in its time period in the 12-34 demo the network targets.

While The Hills declines, its New York City-based sibling The City is starting to shine. The second season premiere of the The City drew just over 2 million viewers at 10:30 p.m., that is up 43% from its series premiere, which drew 1.6 million viewers.
