Whitney Port Is Sad That "The City" Is Over

http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/features/tvblog/090119/whitney_port.jpgFirst The Hills ended, and now The City.

The MTV reality show, which followed California Girl Whitney Port as she broke into world of New York's fashion industry, won't be back for a third season, its star confirms.

"It's always sad when one major chapter in your life comes to a close, but for me, this is the beginning of an entirely new one," Whitney wrote on her official blog. "I loved filming The City. It was just such an adventure and I'm so grateful for every opportunity it gave me."

The show, which was a spin-off of The Hills (itself a spin-off of Laguna Beach), also starred Olivia Palermo as Whitney's fashionable nemesis, Roxy Olin as a friend and roommate and People's Revolution's Kelly Cutrone as her no-nonsense mentor in the fashion PR world, among others.

Unlike The Hills, which came to a close with an elaborate series finale, fans of The City will have to settle with the season 2 finale, which had Whitney facing Kelly after taking a meeting with a competing PR firm.

"I'm so excited for whatever is next for me," Port's blog continues. "There are definitely a few things in the works, but right now I'm primarily focusing on my clothing line Whitney Eve. After all, it is my baby. I'm just so happy to be back home, I can finally spend unlimited time with those I love."

STYLE POLL: Kristin Cavallari vs Roxy Olin

Awkward alert!

When The City's Roxy Olin and The Hills' Kristin Cavallari arrived at the Jill Stuart fashion show in NYC Saturday, the reality stars had fans seeing double -- because they were wearing the same dress!

Fortunately, the frocks weren't totally the same -- Olin, 24, wore a black mini and Cavallari, 23, donned a purple version. After the show, the MTV stars seemed unfazed by their matching minis as they posed for photos together backstage.

"I went to my first fashion show six years ago and loved it," Cavallari told Us Magazine. "Jill Stuart was actually my first show ever. Fashion now is a huge part of my life."

Which MTV star wore it better: Kristin Cavallari or Roxy Olin?

The City Creator: Major Changes For Season 3

On the eve of The Hills' series finale, series creator and executive producer Adam DiVello is looking ahead to a new season of his other show, The City.

Led by Hills alum Whitney Port, the series wrapped its second season Tuesday with Port and BFF Roxy Olin still on the outs after a disagreement at work. Port was contemplating signing with one of her mentor's rival PR companies. Although the New York-based series has yet to be officially renewed for a third season, DiVello already has big changes in the works.

"We're kind of tooling with that and messing with that show so I think when it comes back, it's going to be a little different than what you've seen. But it will be a better incarnation of it," DiVello says. "We have a bunch of new people lined up and a bunch of new locations. We just kind of branched it out. We're just waiting for The Word."

Stephanie Pratt Talks The City, Friendships, Etc

Lately, rumors have been swirling around that Stephanie Pratt is headed to Whitney Port's spin off, "The City," to continue her quest to be a handbag designer.

"No, I'm not going to be on 'The City' next season!" Stephanie says. "I need to address that on Twitter right after I talk to you."

Stephanie and "The City" star Roxy Olin have a rocky history. Pratt's not particularly forthcoming about the girl she once called her "soulmate," but she does acknowledge that she felt betrayed when Roxy joined "The City" instead of "The Hills."

On July 5, updates appeared on Stephanie's Twitter account about how she was done being a doormat, and that after three years of "taking crap," she was finished. "When all these rumors about me joining 'The City' started, my friend Danny thought it was hilarious, and he took over my Twitter," Stephanie laughs. "He was like 'Let's go tell Roxy she'd better watch out!' and he hacked my Twitter and started posting all this stuff. I just deleted all that."

Pratt has no plans to do another reality show right now. "I'm not going to miss the stress and the pressure. It's not like I watch the episodes and think 'Oh, I look great!' I tear myself apart all the time. So it'll be nice to not see myself on TV. I'm sick of seeing myself on TV."

That's not to say there won't be things she will miss about doing the show. "I'll miss going to film at cafes with my best friend Lo [Bosworth]," she says. "The cast has the best time. I never get through a scene, I just laugh the whole time, and I'm always like 'Wait, what was my line? What were we supposed to be talking about?' We enjoy each other so much and we have so many inside jokes. We'll wink at the camera guys, and we can hear the producers in Video Village laughing, and we'll be like 'Pipe down peanut gallery!'"

We all remember her crying after arguments with Brody Jenner, getting into screaming matches with Conrad, and working out her issues with eating disorders and substance abuse in front of the world. "It's amazing, the full circle we've come," she says. "My first year on the show, it was really hard. I was like breaking down all the time. Now, I couldn't be happier."

Stephanie even counts Conrad as one of her best friends. "I just spent Fourth of July at Lauren's house in Laguna Beach," she says. "I drove down on Saturday and spent the whole weekend with her and Lo. Dieter [Schmitz] from 'Laguna Beach' was there, Stephen [Colletti] was there, all her Laguna friends."

Though Conrad and Port will return to "The Hills'" post-finale after-show, don't expect to see Spencer and Heidi on MTV any time soon. "They're not in the finale episode, no. I don't know if they're coming back to the after-show, but they weren't at the MTV Movie Awards, so I doubt it. I don't even know if they're together anymore."

As for what Pratt is going to do with her life now that the show is over -- her handbags will be hitting stores this fall. Hear that, Kelly Cutrone?

Roxy Olin Is Showing Her 4th of July Spirit

Roxy Olin paired this retro blue velvet jumpsuit with some summery red shades and matching purse in the Meatpacking District last weekend.

Roxy Olin Hates Olivia Palermo, Loves Her Style

Roxy Olin is NOT BFFs with Olivia Palermo when not being filmed! We interviewed  her July 1, to get the real deal on MTV’s hit reality show! Obviously we had to ask her right off the bat … are you friends with Olivia, even just a little?

“No, no, no, we are not friends!” she tells us adamantly.

“What you see is how she is. Olivia is very cold to us, me and her clash. I don’t like the way she treats others,” says Roxy. “I really don’t like her.”

But it wasn’t all total dislike for Olivia, Roxy did admit, “She has the ultimate style.”

“Whitney is like my best friend and that hasn’t changed,” reveals Roxy. “We live together and sh*t hits the fan obviously, but we are okay.”

Roxy also commented on Erin Kaplan, the Public Relations Director at Elle Magazine and Olivia’s co-worker. “I love Erin, she is the best! She’s ambitious and she is a work horse. Erin works like crazy hours and is nothing but nice and cool,” says Roxy. “We don’t film a ton together, but I really like her.”

Don’t worry fans! We’ve been assured you can catch more of this cast’s drama next season, and despite rumors circulating, the show has not been cancelled!
