Lauren Conrad Visits DePaul, Talks TV Return

Continuing along with her book promoting efforts, Lauren Conrad was busy at the Barnes & Noble shop on the DePaul University campus in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday (February 25).

Showing off her adorable smile, the former “Hills” hottie jumped into her seat as she partook in an m.powerment and Mark Cosmetics presentation of a panel discussion and book signing for her recently released bestseller “Sweet Little Lies: An L.A. Candy Novel”.

The trip to Chicago comes after LC spent the past weekend at the race track, as she attended the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 500 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

As for her career plans, Miss Conrad recently talked with MTV News about the possibility of returning to TV, saying, “I loved being involved with television, so currently I’m working on more of the production side, but I’m trying to figure out where I want to go from there. I had my break. My break was nice, so we’ll see. Well, we will see.”

Lauren Conrad Visits Southern Miss Bookstore

Lauren Conrad signed autographs at Barnes and Noble’s Southern Miss Bookstore Wednesday.

Conrad, of MTV’s “The Hills,” was in Hattiesburg promoting her New York Times bestselling book, “Sweet Little Lies.”

“I’ve never written a book before so it was a challenge,” Conrad said. “I’ve got two more books coming out in October. I’m going to try producing, my books are being turned into a movie, and I have couple of TV projects I’m working on.”

When she’s not writing, Conrad works with Mark cosmetics to raise awareness and funds for the m.powerment campaign.

Since the launch of m.powerment by Mark in fall of 2008, more than $400,000 has been raised to educate young women about abusive relationships.

Lauren Conrad: Off To Mississippi For Mark.

Lauren Conrad will be at the University of Southern Mississippi bookstore on the Hattiesburg campus to raise awareness and funds for the "m.powerment by mark" campaign to fight dating and relationship abuse.

Conrad is coming because the store sold more than 100 Conrad-designed heart necklaces last October, beating several other colleges throughout the nation.

"When our students realized all of the money was going toward prevention of date rape, our sales went up, which is why we won the contest," Kathy Hayman, book store manager, said in a news release.

Conrad, the face of "mark" — Avon's newest line of cosmetics, fragrances and accessories for young women, said the campaign has raised $400,000 since it launched.

She will sign her latest book "Sweet Little Lies" from 12:30-2:30 p.m. To meet her, customers must purchase at least $22 in mark merchandise with all net proceeds going to the m.powerment campaign.

Seating for the Conrad question and answer session and signing is limited to 150 people. Her session with audience members begins at noon, followed by the book signing. For more information, call (601) 266-5170.

Lauren's Blog: m.powerment by mark

As some of you may know, I teamed up with mark to launch the m.powerment by mark campaign in fall of 2008. The foundation was created to help educate young women about abusive relationships and how to seek help. It has reaised over $400,000.00 to date.

I have helped to create the mark "Have A Heart Necklace" and the new "Have A Heart Bracelet." These make great gifts!

Also, with the help of my makeujp artist Amy Nadine, I created two lip-glosses, the m.powerment gold and m.powerment peach shades. I love to wear the gold gloss over my lipstick to add shine or on bare lips.

To find out more, go to www.meetmark.com.
Pick up the necklace for $22, bracelet for $12 and lip gloss for $6.

100% of the net proceeds will be donated to m.powerment by mark.

Lauren Conrad Goes Glam

Ever since leaving The Hills last season, Lauren Conrad has been flying under the tabloid radar, save for promoting her first novel, L.A. Candy. She recently surfaced at a party last month looking rather, ‘Hollywood’, as opposed to ‘Laguna Beach’ (if that makes any sense). Being a best-selling novelist grows a gal up beauty-wise! Here’s how to snag her sweet but sophisticated style for an upcoming holiday party.

1. Mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup, $9 at MeetMark.com.

2. Love & Beauty Cat Eye Fashion Lashes, $2.80 at Forever21.com.

3. Julie Hewett Los Angeles Lipstick in Belle Noir, $22.50 at JulieHewett.net.
