Playboy's Karissa & Kristina Shannon Go Legit

Kristina and Karissa Shannon -- a.k.a. The Shannon Twins -- have made the unlikely step from Playboy reality show starlets to actual stars of a respectable movie.

As if it were some sort of indie-movie master plan, "The Girls Next Door" blonde-duo hold down serious screen-time in Sofia Coppola's "Somewhere."

"Sofia says it was meant to be," Kristina tells PopcornBiz.

Indeed, fate and Google lent helping hands. Coppola was not aware of the wildly popular E! programs detailing the lives of Hugh Hefner's various female/blonde housemates when she went casting for the part of hot twins for the movie about an actor living in the decadent Chateau Marmont.

"She just went on the computer and Googled twins," Kristina explains. "And me and Karissa's pictures popped up. We're like the only hot twins out there besides the Olsen twins."

The two met with Coppola who immediately snapped up the duo. The director decided that the "girl-ier" twin Kristina was right for the part of Stephen Dorff's dancer/girlfriend. Karissa plays her fellow dancer/twin sister.

"I was cool with it," Karissa says about not getting the bigger part, "She's girl-ier than me. I'm more tomboyish."

Kristina says that during the shoot, Karissa would give the kind of advice only a sister can give. "Sofia would let her watch the monitor while me and Stephen were filming. Karissa would then tell me you look better when you do this or that. We were all working together."

Since filming the movie, Karissa and her longtime boyfriend Sam Jones III have been working on a reality show following their lives.

"The movie is going to be iconic."

Karissa Shannon Talks Tell-All Book

“I’m working on a new book right now. It’s an autobiography. It’s going to include things about life at the mansion,” the 20-year-old blond told Hollywood Life exclusively at OK! magazine’s fifth anniversary party Sept. 1 in Hollywood. “[It was reported] that it was a tell-all about Kendra, but that totally got twisted. Kendra is involved in it because she was at the mansion at the time.”

The book WILL delve into the seedy underbelly of the Playboy mansion, though. “There’s a whole other side of Playboy that nobody knows and I’m going to be able to explain,” she tells us. “[I'm going to write] totally unexplainable things that nobody would ever expect. It’s the Hef that no body knows. It’s the Hef that I know personally. Kendra might not have wanted to talk about it, but I’m willing to talk about it!”

While Kendra seems to be safe from harm, Karissa is more than willing to diss the other Playmates. “The other girls had things against us because we kind of took over their show,” she says of Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison. “[My twin sister Katrina and I] are the younger and better looking Playmates. They’re all kind of old and they put in all the work to make the show. We just kind of came in and took over. So there’s a lot of jealousy going on there, but I don’t have a problem [with Holly].”

Jayde Nicole: Why I Was Never Hef's Girlfriend

You may know Jayde Nicole as the Playmate that once dated The Hills' Brody Jenner. But she's moved on from the reality television star. She's been dating Las Vegas nightlife entrepreneur Jesse Waits since March.

"He treats me like a princess and is the most amazing boyfriend I have ever had," Jayde tells me via email from Bora Bora, where the two are vacationing. "I plan on keeping him around."

What's the best part of living with all the other Playmates?A ton of great advice, there is never a shortage of cute outfits and you always have someone to have a slumber party with, and to go out and cause trouble with:)

Worst part? Any good feuds or drama you can tell me about?The Bunny House is like a huge sorority of beautiful Playmates all living under the same roof, so you can only imagine all the gossip, competing for the same jobs, rooms, clothes, everything. There is definitely some drama happening in this episode and it's only the very beginning.  

Are you still living there?I am currently living half at the Bunny House and half in Las Vegas and half in an airport. LOL. And yes, I realize that is three halves. Ha!

Do you think Crystal Harris is the right woman for Hef or do you think he still needs a couple of more girlfriends at the same time?I must admit it is really weird seeing Hef with only one girlfriend. But you never know what's going to happen around here. He may decide to just keep Crystal as his only one or maybe take on some new ones.

So why aren't you one of Hef's girlfriends? Was it ever a possibility?
Come on now, you should all know Hef only likes blondes. LOL. But seriously I am a Playmate and Hef and I have always had a great working relationship and a great friendship. He made me feel at home and safe when I first moved to L.A. and I consider him part of my Los Angeles family, but I have always had a boyfriend.

Kendra Wilkinson: Thinking About Baby No. 2

Playboy bunny turned reality starlet Kendra Wilkinson said she and football playing hubby Hank Baskett are mulling having a second child -- maybe as soon as next summer.

"I'm not pregnant -- well, not yet," the buxom blonde new mom told Niteside during a stay in Miami over the weekend. "We're thinking next summer for baby No. 2. My son is about to crawl; when that happens, life for us will be over."

On her new memoir 'Sliding Into Home' she says, “My whole life is in this book. You would think, what does a 25 year old have to offer? I wanted to write it not just to tell all, but to put an inspirational twist to all have I have been through.”

“The hardest part about writing the book: What would have Hef say?" she confessed to Niteside. "I was really scared about that. And finally, he emailed me saying congratulations and he tweeted out to the world that it couldn’t be a more accurate book.”

She added, “A lot of girls have written things out of anger, jealously or rage, but I wrote because it's part of my story. And he is nothing but a best friend to me. I would never try to do anything to hurt him."

“I got a reality show because of who I am, I got to stay myself, I didn’t change into anyone. They think they have to be crazy or someone else to be on a reality show. Its hard, you just have to stay true.”

“And honestly, when it comes to reality TV, I would do it all over again. I have no regrets.”
