The L.A. County Jail Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif. said goodbye to a celebrity inmate on Friday -- not Lindsay Lohan, but Alexis Neiers. The 19-year-old star of the E! reality show Pretty Wild served about 20% of the six-month sentence she received in connection to a 2009 robbery that took place at the home of Orlando Bloom.
Neiers initially pled not guilty to the crime in November, but, faced with a potential six-year term, agreed to a plea bargain in June.
She said in a statement Friday: "I've had time to reflect on my life and the choices that led me to this experience, left alone in my cell 23 hours a day and having everything stripped away but the bare essentials. I did a lot of soul searching. I feel very humbled and see my life in a way that I have come to be very grateful for."
The reality star received three years felony probation and must pay a not-yet-determined amount of money in restitution. She maintains her innocence in the famous "burglary bunch" robberies of last year.
"I am now a convicted felon -- convicted of a crime that I did not commit," she says. "However, it gives me an excellent opportunity to reach out to teens and help them grasp the possible consequences of drinking and partying with people you assume are safe and with whom you consider friends. The possible consequences are NOT worth it."
