MTV’s hit reality show “The City” is known for being a bit scripted, but one aspect of the show's drama about twentysomethings in New York isn't just for cameras: the strained friendship between Erin Lucas and Whitney Port.
Niteside caught up with the reality starlet at the Steve Madden Music and Iyaz event Tuesday night, and when asked if she was still in touch with Port, Lucas demurred with a tense “no comment.”
The former BFFs co-starred on the first season of “The Hills” spinoff but Lucas later quit the show. But the reality star -- who describes life after “The City” as “crazy” -- is still gallivanting around Manhattan and hitting up some of her favorite spots such as Freemans, The Box and the summertime boat-and-bar hybrid The Frying Pan.
While Lucas and Port may no longer be besties on or off-screen, Lucas says she is working on a return to television.
“I’ve got a couple projects I’m really busy working on," she said. "I’m really excited… but can’t talk about them just yet.”
