After keeping her family in the dark about getting 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day, Heidi Montag is finally heading home to Crested Butte, Colo., to confront her mom and reveal what she calls, “the new me.”And camera crews for MTV’s The Hills are recording it all.
Montag — still in bandages she has to wear for portions of the day while her recovery continues — boarded a private jet bound for Colorado early Wednesday with her sister Holly.
The Hills star recently told PEOPLE her mom, Darlene Egelhoff, was horrified by the surgeries. “I still can’t believe I’m 23 and mom is reacting this way,” Montag said.
Despite conflicting reports that her mom was actually supportive of the surgeries, Montag told PEOPLE her mother didn’t know the extent of the procedures and only talked to her daughter after they were completed. At that point, her tune changed dramatically and Egelhoff became eager to confront Montag about going under the knife.
