MTV's reality-drama empire has created another star. Kelly Cutrone, the fashion P.R. queen who's appeared on Laguna Beach and The Hills and is currently Whitney Port's no-nonsense boss on The City, will soon be the star of her own new show.
Cutrone will be hopping from MTV to Bravo for her show Kell On Earth. Kelly says the name was inspired by an ex-boyfriend.
"The last guy that broke up with me was like, 'If you get your own TV show you should call it Kell on Earth because that's what it was like living with you,'" she said in a video testimonial on Bravo.tv. "I was like, 'I really wanna cry, but I have to run upstairs and trademark the name so I can get my own show on Bravo'."
And so she did. Kell on Earth will hit the air on Feb. 1 at 10 p.m.
According to the Bravo.tv blog post announcing the series, Kell on Earth will provide "an inside look at the cutthroat world of fashion," and it will do so through the life and times of the woman who's been called one of the "coolest, scariest and New York-iest people ever."
Cutrone also has also written a book, If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You, which is due out early next year.
